More boots on the ground this festive season

More than 1 000 suspects arrested during Operation O Kae Molao.

Different law enforcement led by Gauteng provincial commissioner Lieutenant General Elias Mawela took to the streets of Booysens precinct during Operation O Kae Molao where more than 1 000 suspects were arrested on December 1.

A roadblock was set up on Kliprivier Drive, followed by a law enforcement presence in the streets and shopping malls.

Ward 55 Clr Rashieda Landis said the people in Gauteng are witnessing more police boots on the ground.

“Mawela and the integrated law enforcement agencies walked the streets and shopping malls of Booysens, Rosettenville, and the surrounding areas.

Of the 1000 or so suspects nabbed, 17 of those were arrested for alleged murders.

“The second phase of Operation O Kae Molao resulted in the arrest of more than 80 suspects for crimes that include possession of drugs and undocumented foreign nationals,” she said.
