Suspects nabbed for conspiracy to commit a business robbery
The suspects were detained at Mondeor SAPS on multiple charges and are due to appear in court soon.

Ten male suspects were apprehended while attempting to rob the Golden Fry factory in Eikenhof on January 27.
Other charges against the suspects include impersonating Department of Labour officials, violating the Immigration Act, fraud, and possession of illegal firearms.
The arrests came about because of the collaboration between the JMPD Integrated Intelligence Operation Centre’s Undercover Reaction Unit and the SAPS Crime Intelligence.
According to the JMPD spokesperson, Xolani Fihla, they received reports that an armed group would be travelling in four vehicles – Volkswagen Polos, a white Ford Ranger and a white Toyota Quantum.

“The operational team proceeded to the location and was strategically placed. While monitoring, the officers spotted two white VW Polos with Unemployment Insurance Fund and Department of Labour branding on the doors. One Polo had a Gauteng Provincial Government number plate. The team also spotted a black BMW 1 series and a blue Toyota Corolla.

“The team noticed the vehicles approach the factory. A shootout ensued when the officers approached and intercepted the suspects. The shootout did not result in any injuries.”

Fihla said four South Africans and six Zimbabwean nationals were arrested. The men were found with four firearms that had their serial numbers filed off.
“Reflector jackets and cards from the Department of Labour were discovered on the suspects. They were detained at Mondeor SAPS on multiple charges and are due to appear in court soon,” added Fihla.
