Six suspects behind bars in Johannesburg

SAPS appreciates the public for their contribution in combating crime.

Johannesburg Flying Squad members arrested six suspects in the Johannesburg area and recovered one unlicensed firearm from July 21 to 24.

Four suspects were arrested for possession of suspected stolen property, one for having an unlicensed firearm and ammunition and one for possession of drugs.

One firearm, a 9mm Norinco with a number filed off was booked in at Jeppe SAPS.

Johannesburg Flying Squad communication officer, Raymond Sambo said the investigation continued in all cases.

“Working with the community led to these recoveries. The SAPS appreciates the public for their contribution.”

It should also be noted that for any information regarding the vehicles, one may contact the relevant detective quoting the relevant case number.

The suspects, aged between 20 and 30, appeared at different magistrate’s courts facing charges of possession of the suspected stolen property, possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition and possession of drugs,” he said.
