Swift teamwork foils armed robbery at Mayberry Park liquor depot
Thirteen suspects targeted the facility with five trucks, but coordinated action by CPS Security, SAPS, and other law enforcement agencies led to six arrests and the recovery of stolen firearms.
A daring armed robbery attempt at a liquor distribution centre in Mayberry Park was foiled thanks to the quick response and excellent teamwork of CPS Security, SAPS, and other law enforcement agencies.
On June 3, 13 suspects attempted to steal large quantities of liquor using five superlink trucks.
However, the suspects were met with a swift and coordinated response from CPS Security, Fox Security, Brackendowns CPF, SAPS, EMPD, Gauteng Traffic Police Saturation Unit, Gauteng Traffic Police Airwing, and SRM Security Group.

The suspects fled on foot, jumping over perimeter walls, but multiple arrests were made. Six suspects were apprehended, and three firearms were recovered.
The suspects were arrested just three and a half hours after the robbery.
Two hijacked trucks were left at the scene, but some suspects managed to escape in one truck with a load.

“The suspects have been arrested for armed robbery, intimidation, vehicle theft, and evading arrest,” said Alberton SAPS station commander Colonel Olven Letloenyane.
The successful operation is a testament to the power of collaboration and coordination between different units.

This success showcases the importance of working together towards a common goal, utilising the necessary resources and manpower to keep our communities safe.
