Update: Kibler Park shooting claims life of 42-year-old man

Authorities are appealing to the public for information as investigations continue.

A murder case has been opened at Mondeor Police Station following the fatal shooting of a 42-year-old man in Kibler Park on March 24.

According to reports, the incident occurred at approximately 10:50 when the victim was approached by two unknown armed suspects.

The suspects allegedly opened fire without warning, striking the man multiple times in the upper body.

Paramedics arrived at the scene shortly thereafter and declared the victim dead. The motive for the attack remains unknown at this stage, and no arrests have been made.

Police have launched an investigation and are actively pursuing leads to identify and apprehend the suspects.

An unconfirmed comment from a source has suggested that the victim was employed by Sinqobile Equestrian Security Services (SESS) and was reportedly having his car washed at Supa Wash at the time of the shooting. This information has not yet been verified by authorities.

Authorities are appealing to members of the community who may have witnessed the incident or who have any information that could assist in the investigation to come forward.
