Women celebrated in Ward 57

As women, we must continue to speak up; by doing this, we will shape the next generation of women.

National Women’s Day in South Africa is celebrated on August 9 every year. This year we celebrated it on August 26 at our local library in Moffat View.

This day serves as a reminder of women’s crucial role, not only in our country but in society as a whole.

What does it mean to be a woman in 2022? Being a female today should mean freedom, equality and safety.
Sadly there is still a long way to go to ensure that women are safe.

So what does being a woman today means?

It means celebrating who we are, it means seeing how strong we are. As women, we must continue to speak up; by doing this, we will shape the next generation of women.

I would like to thank everyone involved in making this event a huge success.
