SAPS empowers Grade Eight learners at Mondeor High School induction day

Mondeor SAPS, alongside junior commissioners, spearheaded a transformative induction day at Mondeor High School, addressing critical issues such as bullying and peer pressure.

Mondeor High School witnessed a remarkable event on January 16, as the SAPS Mondeor collaborated with the school to welcome Grade Eight learners and empower them with essential knowledge on their induction day.

The event, held from 08:00 to 09:00, aimed to create a positive environment for newcomers and address critical issues such as bullying and peer pressure.

Sergeant Sibongile Mnguni, Mondeor SAPS communications officer, said the induction day began with a warm welcome from the junior commissioners, setting a friendly tone for the day.

“The SAPS junior commissioners played a crucial role in facilitating the event, ensuring the newcomers felt comfortable and engaged throughout the sessions.

“One of the focal points of the induction day was the insightful talk on bullying and peer pressure. The junior commissioners, along with the Mondeor social crime coordinator, took the stage to share valuable information and practical advice with the Grade Eight learners.

“They designed the talks to raise awareness about these prevalent issues and to equip the learners with strategies to navigate and overcome challenges related to bullying and peer pressure.

“Discussions were interactive, encouraging learners to share their thoughts and experiences. The junior commissioners, as role models within the school community, shared personal anecdotes and examples to illustrate the importance of resilience, self-confidence, and seeking support when faced with adversity,” said Mnguni.
