Joburg South in safe hands as more security officers trained
“The only requirement for the students is they must attend classes for three weeks, Monday to Friday.”
GGT2030-TEAM JHB offers a free three-week security officer training course on 1 Lindhorst Street, Towerby.
The owner of Guardian Angels Security, Steve Dwarika, said this would help fight crime in the south.
“We, as GGT2030-TEAM JHB, offer free security training that usually costs about R3 500 per student. We are offering Grades C, D and E. The only requirement for the students is they must attend classes for three weeks, Monday to Friday.
“They must also have the administration fee of R150, which covers their certificate costs. They will then pay for their Private Security Industry Regulatory Authority (PSiRA) registration, which is paid directly to PSiRA (R180).
“Once they finish their course, which is a theory and practical course, we will assist them with the application process at PSiRA. The first class started on May 6 and runs for the next three weeks.
“This is one of the premises we were offered where we will set the operation command centre for GGT2030-TEAM JHB, which falls under the central cluster. “There are currently about 30 security companies on the panel. Basically, we are the alliance of security companies which will assist all law enforcement, and our idea is to have other law enforcement agencies in this premises to assist with crime in the area and along the central corridor,” explained Dwarika.
Interested community members can collect forms from their office on 1 Lindhorst Street, Towerby, and register for the next class.
