Join TLC in celebrating Christmas with the little ones

From toys and books to clothing and educational supplies, your generosity can help create a magical festive experience for the children in need.

TLC Children’s Centre believes in the profound power of change.

For over 31 years, they have dedicated themselves to enhancing the lives of vulnerable children and their families.

Their mission is simple yet profound: to create a safe environment where every child feels a sense of belonging.

Their commitment to making a difference is reflected in the comprehensive support they provide.

The centre works closely with children facing various challenges. Some battle serious illnesses, while others navigate the complexities of life without guidance.

Managing director Pippa Jarvis shared: “We understand many of these children have endured trauma that shapes their childhood experiences. We strive to help them heal and thrive.

“We have initiated small interventions that foster understanding and community connection. For instance, we host circles where ladies gather to learn skills, such as knitting. This not only enriches our community but also empowers individuals to share their passions and talents.”

As the festive season approaches, TLC invites corporations and individuals to join them in celebrating Christmas with the children.

This time of year is about gifting and sharing, and the joy that comes from giving can truly brighten a child’s life. For those who wish to contribute, TLC offers Section 18A for tax benefits on donations.

“The children will be overjoyed to receive gifts, and your support can make a significant difference,” said Jarvis.

“Together, we can create unforgettable moments of joy and hope for our children.”

Support the children at the village this Christmas by giving them a gift.

The gift can include general items for 12 to 18-year-olds such as Bluetooth headphones or a wireless speaker, a gift voucher, perfume, or a school backpack.

General items for six to 12-year-olds include sweets and treats, wireless headphones with FM, a gift voucher, a craft pack or a school backpack.

Additionally, you can create a mini Santa sack to donate. In the sack, consider putting in an item of clothing, a sweet treat, a toothbrush or toothpaste, a face cloth or soap, an age-appropriate toy and a stationery item.

At TLC Children’s Centre, they don’t just care for children; they empower families. By providing parents with the tools and support they need, they help create stable, nurturing environments where children can flourish.

“Our programmes address the unique needs of our community, ensuring that every child not only survives but thrives,” highlighted Jarvis.

“As we look to the future, our commitment remains steadfast. We will continue to advocate for change and support the families who rely on us. Together, we can transform lives, build a brighter future, and ensure every child feels safe and valued,” she added.
