World Day of the Poor is celebrated to recognise God’s presence in the suffering of the poor and to act with hope and compassion in the face of injustice and inequality.

Over 300 people in need were served a hot meal, all attendees were seated at tables where they enjoyed their meals in the company of one another.

Deacon Middleton spoke about the importance of helping those in need.

”If we have the means to help those in need, we must do so. Food is as necessary as water and air, so it must be provided in the same way. I am happy the church was able to celebrate World Day of the Poor in such a meaningful way,” said Middleton.
