Thyme Café transforms into Sunflower Café with fresh look and events

The café at the retirement village had a facelift.

The former Thyme Café at the Glenzicht Retirement Village recently changed its name to the Sunflower Café and Catering.

The restaurant had a complete makeover. It looks new with yellow and blue decorations and sunflowers.

The venue hosted many functions for residents and the surrounding communities of Linmeyer and Oakdene.

One was the cheese and wine tasting for Glenzicht residents.

“Our guests had such a lovely evening that we plan to host more of these events in the coming year,” said Helga Vermaak, one of the owners of the Sunflower Café.

“We are growing from strength to strength and appreciate all the support we receive from the Glenzicht residents and members of the surrounding communities who come and join us for a boerie roll, cake and tea or those who pop in for a light bite and enjoy the vibrant atmosphere.” she continued.

A resident from the Glenzicht Retirement Village spoke about her experience at the wine-tasting event.

“The cheese and wine tasting was out of this world. We got spoilt rotten with a large variety of cheeses, wines and condiments complimenting the cheese and wines. We look forward to the next one. Well done, Sunflower Café,” said the resident.
