Pikitup urges residents to ignore fake job advert on TikTok

The advert is from last year and has been altered.

Pikitup has disassociated itself from a fraudulent TikTok job advert falsely claiming the company is hiring 400 general workers, with applications closing on March 6.

The misleading video is an altered version of a legitimate Pikitup job posting from May 27, 2024, which closed on June 10, 2024.

Pikitup warns the public not to engage with the fake advert and clarifies that it does not accept job applications via WhatsApp, as falsely suggested in the video.

Managing director Bukelwa Njingolo expressed concern over social media misuse, “It is deeply troubling that individuals exploit vulnerable job seekers through deceptive social media posts, potentially disrupting Pikitup’s operations.”

Pikitup remains committed to transparent hiring practices and urges the public to verify job vacancies through its official communication channels.
