Major delays expected in Joburg for G20 Foreign Ministers meeting, see affected routes

Expect heavy traffic near the Johannesburg Expo Centre on Thursday and Friday.

Motorists are advised to plan their routes as the G20 Foreign Ministers’ meeting takes place at the Johannesburg Expo Centre from February 20 to 21.

Johannesburg Metropolitan Police Department (JMPD) spokesperson Xolani Fihla said the event is expected to cause traffic disruptions in the area.

The affected routes include Rand Show Road, Nasrec Road, Landbou Road, Recreation Road, Commerce Street, Golden Highway, and Soweto Highway.

Fihla confirmed that while there will be no road closures around the Expo Centre, JMPD officers will be deployed to manage traffic in the Nasrec precinct throughout the meeting.

Motorists are encouraged to plan their routes accordingly and anticipate possible delays.
