New colours for Door of Hope baby room
You can be part of the transformation by supporting the paint project.
The baby room at Door of Hope is getting a bright and beautiful transformation, thanks to the talents of Aunty Sam and the support of the community.
Aunty Sam is a professional muralist and long-time friend of Door of Hope. Known for her creative and heartwarming designs, Aunty Sam has generously offered to paint the murals at a reduced cost to support the cause.
“We are so grateful to Aunty Sam,” said Door of Hope operations director Nadene Grabham. “She paints murals for a living and has kindly offered to create something beautiful for our baby room at a low price. Now we are raising funds to help her design, buy paint, and make her magic on our walls.”

As part of their Sponsor a Splash campaign, the organisation has invited the public to contribute towards the cost of a mural that will bring warmth and colour to the space where abandoned and vulnerable babies are cared for.
The organisation is calling on supporters to help cover the artist’s costs. “This artwork is something that will lift the spirits of the babies and caregivers.”
The quote from artist Pablo Picasso, “Art washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life,” reflects the heart behind the project of using art to bring healing and hope.
Anyone who wishes to contribute can do so via Standard Bank, account number 201072688, using the reference ‘Splash Sponsor’.

With community support, Door of Hope hopes to finish the mural soon and give the baby room the bright new look it deserves.
