More areas affected by Eikenhof substation maintenance

What was meant to be routine maintenance affecting only Kibler Park has expanded to impact several surrounding areas.

City Power confirmed that the planned maintenance underway at the Eikenhof substation has required the temporary shutdown of a secondary feeder board today, June 30.

As a result, power supply to Mayfield Park, Naturena, and Alveda Park has also been affected, in addition to Kibler Park.

The maintenance is expected to be completed by 16:00 this afternoon.

City Power explained that these maintenance operations are essential for upgrading and ensuring the reliability of the electrical network.

“During planned maintenance, customers will not have electricity supply for the stipulated timeframe. This is necessary work as part of our commitment to improved service delivery,” said City Power in a statement.

Residents are advised to treat all electrical outlets as live, as power can be restored at any time without prior notice.

City Power apologised for the inconvenience and thanked residents for their understanding and cooperation.
