Booysens Police mourn the passing of Warrant Officer SP “Fanie” van Staden

After 35 years of loyal service, Fanie is remembered as a brave officer, devoted father, and cherished friend.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Warrant Officer SP van Staden, fondly known as Fanie, on August 7, after an illness bravely borne.

Fanie faithfully served the South African Police Service for 35 years with courage, integrity, and loyalty. Throughout his career he was awarded numerous medals for his bravery and long service, standing as a true protector of both his community and his colleagues.

At Booysens Police Station and Johannesburg South, he will be remembered as a loyal comrade, mentor, and friend.

To his family, he was more than the uniform he wore. He was a devoted father, a beloved son, a caring brother, and a source of constant love and strength. His heart for his family and his compassion for others defined his life.

He leaves behind his daughter, mother, brothers, sister, and many colleagues and friends who will cherish his memory.

Rest peacefully, Fanie. Your watch is over, but your love and legacy live on in us all.
