WATCH: Green Tech Solutions launches e-waste initiative in Forest Hill

Community-driven project partners with schools and organisations to promote recycling and environmental sustainability.

Green Tech Solutions, a community-driven initiative, was launched on September 18 at Voorbrand Primary School in Forest Hill.

The organisation aims to promote environmental sustainability through e-waste management and community outreach programmes.

Aussie Themba Ndlovu, Unathi Nikani, and Ward 55 Clr Dr Rashieda Landis supported community members with the vision and resources to empower themselves and their community, which led to the start of the e-waste project.

They also developed business acumen in digital marketing, financial management, and strategic planning.

The launch event, themed Clean Today, Greener Tomorrow – It Starts with You, featured a community clean-up drive in Forest Hill, highlighting the importance of local involvement in environmental sustainability.

Green Tech Solutions plans to partner with more schools in Joburg South and local organisations to drive positive change and promote a greener future in the area.

Team member Pule Thomas Thaga expressed gratitude to those who helped start the project.

“I want to thank the WasteAid facilitators, Aussie Ndlovu and Unathi Nikani, for their guidance and support. Your dedication to making a cleaner environment for all is truly inspiring,” said Thaga.

“I also want to thank councillor Landis for her support – we appreciate all your guidance and help.”

Green Tech Solutions is poised to make a meaningful impact in environmental sustainability and community empowerment in Joburg South through recycling initiatives and mass clean-up projcts aimed at creating a cleaner, less contaminated, and healthier environment.

Landis highlighted the importance of environmental stewardship: “The work that Green Tech Solutions and WasteAid are doing is what will help save our environment, our planet, and help us live in a cleaner space. Their work is invaluable, and I will continue to support it,” said Landis.
