Active Youngins Foundation hosts strategic youth development engagement in Johannesburg south

AYF works collaboratively with schools, public institutions, and local stakeholders to advance positive outcomes for youth.

The Active Youngins Foundation (AYF) will host an engagement session at Rosettenville Primary School, aimed at strengthening youth development, education support, and community partnerships in Johannesburg south on December 13, starting at noon.

The event brings together local schools, district officials, stakeholders, and youth-focused organisations to collaborate on programmes that enhance learning outcomes, skills development, and pathways to opportunity.

AYF continues to position itself as a catalyst for sustainable youth empowerment through structured programmes that address academic support, life skills, leadership development, psychosocial well-being, and employability.

This strategic engagement forms part of the organisation’s commitment to nurturing talent in underserved communities and partnering with government, education districts, and civil society to deliver impactful interventions.

Speaking ahead of the event, AYF chairperson and strategic leader Carol Mbokodo emphasised the importance of collective effort in building an enabling environment for young people.

“Community partnerships play a critical role in shaping the future of our youth. We believe that effective collaboration between education stakeholders, families, and local organisations is essential to unlocking potential and improving educational outcomes,” she said.

Event objectives

The upcoming session will:

• Strengthen stakeholder collaboration between AYF, the Johannesburg South Education District, schools, and community structures.

• Present the AYF programme suite, including education support, leadership initiatives, wellness activities, and employability pathways.

• Create a platform for dialogue on how local youth can be better supported academically, socially, and emotionally.

• Identify partnership opportunities that advance education and talent development in the district.

Why does this matter?

Johannesburg south continues to face challenges related to youth unemployment, school completion rates, safety, and psychosocial well-being. AYF’s programmes are designed to respond to these realities through evidence-based interventions that work hand-in-hand with communities.

Call for participation

AYF invites district leaders, school principals, youth organisations, educators, parents, higher learning institutions, corporate organisations, subject matter experts, and community partners to join this impactful session as they collectively chart a path that elevates young people and strengthens learning ecosystems.
