Big Walk for Young Warriors to raise awareness for childhood cancer
Families and supports will come together at Rietvlei Zoo Farm this February for a meaningful community walk supporting children affected by cancer.
The Alberton Lions Club is inviting the community to lace up their walking shoes in support of children battling cancer at the Big Walk for Young Warriors, a childhood cancer awareness walk scheduled for February.
The event aims to raise awareness, show solidarity with young cancer warriors, and support organisations that work tirelessly to improve the lives of children affected by cancer.
The walk will take place on February 14, at Rietvlei Zoo Farm, offering families, friends, and supporters an opportunity to come together for a meaningful cause in a safe and scenic environment.
Registration starts at 09:00, with the walk beginning at 10:00.
The cost to participate is R80 per person, with both cash and card payments accepted on the day.
Funds raised will contribute towards childhood cancer awareness initiatives, with support from partners including Kids Kicking Cancer and the Heroes Circle, among others.
The Alberton Lions Club encourages residents of all ages to take part, whether by walking, spreading awareness or showing support for families affected by childhood cancer.
