JSPCA welcomes new general and deputy general managers

The new appointments mark a fresh chapter aimed at strengthening operations and expanding support for animals in need.

The Johannesburg SPCA (JSPCA) is pleased to announce two senior appointments that mark the beginning of a new chapter for the organisation. Both appointments took effect on June 1.

The JSPCA has appointed Jolene Beyleveld as its new general manager. Beyleveld is returning to the organisation, where she previously worked as a fundraiser and PR manager. She later joined Childline, where she served as strategic partner and data analytics manager.

She brings extensive experience from the non-profit sector, with strong skills in community engagement, strategic partnerships, and fundraising. The organisation says her return comes at an important time as it seeks to strengthen its operations and expand support for its work with animals in need.

A JSPCA management representative said, “Jolene’s experience and deep understanding of the non-profit environment make her ideally placed to help guide the JSPCA forward. We are excited to welcome her back.”

The JSPCA has also appointed Ronald Ramalara as deputy general manager. Ramalara is a long-serving member of the SPCA movement, with nearly 35 years of experience. He currently serves as a senior inspector at the society.

His long history with the JSPCA gives him a strong understanding of its operations, its people, and the communities it serves.

A member of the JSPCA team said, “Ronald’s experience on the ground and his commitment to animal welfare are unmatched. He knows the realities of our work and brings stability and trust to the leadership team.”

The JSPCA says the appointments of Beyleveld and Ramalara bring together strong strategic leadership and deep operational experience.

“Together, Jolene and Ronald form a strong leadership team. Their combined skills will help us rebuild, strengthen, and grow our impact for years to come,” said the JSPCA team.

The organisation has called on supporters to join in welcoming both appointees and to continue supporting its work for animal welfare across Johannesburg.
