DA JHB South Constituency Chair and Ward 56 Clr Michael Crichton announced the passing of his predecessor, Dannis Jane, on June 19.

He said it was with a very heavy heart and a great amount of shock to announce the passing of former councillor and DA JHB South Constituency deputy chair Dennis Jane.

“Dennis was my predecessor in Ward 56 and someone passionate about his community right up to the end. I viewed him as a mentor. Even when he retired as a councillor, he stayed involved in the constituency as a deputy chair and was heavily involved in the DA Boroang Branch in Ward 56, initially as a secretary and recently as a deputy chair.

“He was also currently serving as a ward committee member for health. He was all ready to serve as the VD Captain at Frances Vorwerg this weekend. He will be terribly missed. My condolences to his family, friends, and colleagues,” he said.
