Glenanda families donate to kids in need
Glenanda Primary Grade Four learners collected clothes and toys for Johannesburg Children’s Home
Grade Four learners at Glenanda have been learning that kindness can change lives after a successful drive to collect pre-loved clothes and toys during the school holidays for the Johannesburg Children’s Home.
The school extended a heartfelt thank you to parents for their generosity, saying the donations will bring comfort, joy and hope to many children in need.
Every donation, no matter how big or small, will make a meaningful difference in a young life.
The initiative was framed as more than charity; it was a lesson for learners about giving back.
“We are so proud of our families for embracing the spirit of caring, sharing and giving back. Together, we are teaching our learners that even the smallest act of kindness can have a lasting impact,” said the principal of Glenanda Primary, Graham King.
“A heartfelt thank you to all our wonderful Glenanda parents for your incredible generosity in donating pre-loved clothes and toys to the Johannesburg Children’s Home. Your kindness and compassion will bring comfort, joy and hope to many children in need. Thank you to everyone who generously donated and for helping make this charitable initiative such a wonderful success,” Mr King said.
The school says the response from families reflects the values it hopes to instil: compassion and community involvement start at home and in the classroom.
