SASSA releases 2026/2027 grant payment schedule

Annual schedule gives beneficiaries payment dates for older persons, disability and children's grants until March 2027.

The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) has published its full annual payment schedule for the 2026/2027 financial year, giving millions of beneficiaries clarity on when to expect their older persons, disability, and children’s grants.

The schedule, released under the #SASSACARES campaign, covers payment dates up to March 2027 for the country’s three main grant categories.

Grant payment order stays the same. As in previous years, SASSA will pay grants in a staggered order each month to reduce queues and system pressure.

Older persons grants will be paid first, followed by disability grants, then children’s grants.

Exception dates are also listed for all grants each month to accommodate late payments or system issues.

Key payment dates:

• August: Older persons on August 4, disability on August 5, children’s grant on August 6 and exceptions on August 7.

• September: Older persons on September 2, disability on September 3, children’s grant on September 4 and exceptions on September 7.

• October: Older persons on October 2, disability on October 5, children’s grant on October 6 and exceptions on October 7.

• November: Older persons on November 3, disability on November 4, children’s grant on November 5 and exceptions on November 6.

• December: Older persons on December 2, disability on December 3, children’s grant on December 4 and exceptions on December 7.

• January 2027: Older persons on January 5, disability on January 6, children’s grant on January 7 and exceptions on January 8.

• February 2027: Older persons on February 2, disability on February 3, children’s grant on February 4 and exceptions on February 5.

• March 2027: Older persons on March 2, disability on March 3, children’s grant on March 4 and exceptions on March 5.

The full 12-month table shows most grants falling on the first week of each month, with slight shifts for public holidays and weekends.

The agency, which falls under the Department of Social Development, reminded beneficiaries to only use official SASSA channels for information.

It listed its social media handles, including @OfficialSASSA and SASSA News on Facebook.

Beneficiaries are urged to check the dates for their specific grant type and to collect funds safely at their usual pay points. SASSA says the early release of the full year schedule is aimed at helping families budget and plan ahead.

For more information, beneficiaries can contact SASSA via 0800 60 10 11 or 012 400 2322 or email GrantsEnquiries@sassa.gov.za
