You have greatness and talents within you more than you can ever begin to imagine and I am not saying this for you to feel good about yourself, but to take this as a fact because it is. I spent so many years of my life living other people’s opinions of me. Simply put, I was caged – I had bought a wrong story about my capabilities; I was mediocre not because I was stupid but because I was playing out of my natural position. The very top need in Abraham Maslow’s hierarchy of needs is self-actualisation. Self-actualisation simply means ‘the desire for self-fulfilment.’ This self-fulfilment is about pursuing your purpose in life. Most people are chasing mansions, big cars, top positions, top restaurants, designer clothes, and so on and so forth. It’s okay to have these things but sadly they don’t bring you eternal peace and happiness, your life’s purpose will. So, if everything in your vocabulary is still about yourself, know that you haven’t found your life’s task or purpose. You must start to look at life far beyond yourself and eternal peace will come your way. Wherever your treasure is, there your heart will be also!
