Get fired up

Doing what you love motivates you, gives you abundant energy, tons of enthusiasm and a reason for being.

“Wherever your treasure is, there the desires of your heart will also be.” – Luke:12:34.

Doing what you love motivates you, gives you abundant energy, tons of enthusiasm and a reason for being. It makes you look forward to tomorrow with a lot of anticipation, leading to excellence that attracts treasures in your life. This is what this verse refers to. What meaning have you been giving to it all along?

The meaning we associate to things controls our entire lives. This simply means that the only way to control our lives is to control the meaning we give or associate to things, because we surely cannot control things or what is happening to us. Let’s say a person gets fired or retrenched from a job, they may respond by saying “I am not good enough” or “God has given me the opportunity to do what I was born to do”. One may end up abusing drugs just to numb the feelings of losing a job and the other may end up being fired-up and later become a multi-millionaire. When you are fired from something, see it as an opportunity to be fired-up for something bigger and better.

What is it that when you do it you forget that it’s Friday afternoon, that you are hungry, makes you lose sense of time and place, you become deaf to people who laugh at you and tell you it can’t be done? This should give you a clue, start paying attention. Don’t let the noise of others around you drown your inner-voice. You are God’s highest form of creation; your gifts and talents were given to you to make this world a better place than you found it, so flatly refuse to take them to your grave with you!
