Reuven residents say – Thank you

Well-known singers and musicians and professional artists came to put some joy and pleasure into the lonesome and monotonous lives of many of the elderly.

THE residents at Reuven Old Age Home enjoyed a packed to capacity 2016 festive season programme of entertainment including: Christmas lunches, gift packs, grocery packs, concerts, musical renditions, hairdos, massages, manicures and pedicures.

Well-known singers and musicians and professional artists, came to put some joy and pleasure into the lonesome and monotonous lives of many of the elderly.

Unfortunately, many of the residents of surrounding old age homes say they experienced a quiet and lonely and isolated Christmas holidays. Mrs Caroline Ngoasheng, chairperson for the Reuven Committee, said that Reuven’s residents should count themselves fortunate and blessed to be cared for by various generous and kind organisations, Christian churches, Muslim and Hindu religious organisations, local businesses, schools, clubs, societies and private individuals such as: Meals on Wheels, Sue Lubbe and Friends, Lewens Sentrum Kerk; SDA Mission Church, Christ Embassy Church and St Paul United Indian Funds Raising Committee.

The local schools from primary to high schools, played a significant part in catering for the needs of the aged. The elderly loved being pampered and entertained by the young people such as Mondeor High, Robertsham Primary, Waterstone College and Sir John Adamson High.

We wish to thank the following: Fifty Shades Hair Salon, ‘Final Few’ Motor Cycle Club, “It’s Not All About Me”, Razia Give Back Projects, SA Cake Decorators Guild, Clicks for Eye Glasses, Herbert Park Bowling Club and Social Development and the many others who’ve made a contribution to the elderly.

Mrs Ngoasheng expressed her heartfelt thanks and appreciation on behalf of the Reuven residents for the generosity and love they received, from so many kind-hearted people. Reuven holds them all in high esteem. May God bless them with abundant health and happiness. She also wishes to thank members of the committee and the volunteers for the hard work and dedication and sacrifice. Thank you all.
