I recently went to Mr Price Home at The Glen Shopping Centre, and when I went to the till to pay I realised I had mislaid my car keys.
We looked high and low, and shop assistant Ngwako was extremely helpful in assisting me to find the keys. He told me to go to information/security and maybe they would have the keys.
I asked security if I could see the footage but the manager said it would take too long, even though the period we are talking about was half an hour, if that.
A wonderful gentleman from security offered to clamp the wheel of my car, so at least I could be assured it would not be stolen.
I went back to Mr Price and again Ngwako came to my assistance. I asked if I could see their footage and he obliged. The footage showed me coming into the store with my handbag on one shoulder and my keys in my other hand. As I walked further into the store, the keys reflected and shined, so clearly the keys were on the premises.
Ngwako was still not happy the keys had not been found and looked under the counter where the computers/tills are on the top counter.
The paying counter has a circular hole where the computer wires go through. Ngwako took a look and there were my keys. They had fallen through the hole.
Ngwako, I thank you so much for going the extra mile in assisting me to find my keys.
It’s staff like yourself who take their jobs seriously and are interested in their customers who make shopping such a pleasure.
