T20 Schools set to go

Coca-Cola T20 schools challenge in Potchefstroom from March 18 to 21.

St Stithians has qualified to represent the Lions in the Coca-Cola T20 schools challenge in Potchefstroom from 18 to 21 March.

Wandile Makwethu from Saints is a major contributor to the success of the school.

For the third year in a row there will be a panel of judges that will select the Coca-Cola Hero of the Day. This daily award will honour the standout player on each match day.

The Coca-Cola Hero of the Day is not necessarily the best player of the day but recognises someone who has done something that changes the course of a game. The winner could be the player who ran out a batsman who was in form, or an acrobatic catch to dismiss an opposing batsman.

Wandile is one of the players who stands a good chance of winning the award. He is one of two Coca-Cola SA u.19 players in the Saints line-up and has a lot of experience, having been selected for the ICC u.19 cricket world cup. He scored 50* in the final match for the Coca-Cola SA u.19s against New Zealand to make sure that we ended the tournament with a victory.
