Two-wheel dominance at Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit
SA Bike Festival: 27 - 29 May 2016, SA’s Premier Motorcycle, Music & Lifestyle Festival
THE South Africa Bike Festival, powered by Discovery Channel, launches a round-up of all the bike action taking place over three days from May 27 to 29 at the newly renovated Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit.
With over 3 500 test rides on more than 70 motorcycles throughout the weekend, organisers and manufacturers are thrilled to see the Ducati 1299 Panigale S, BMW S1000 RR, KTM 1290 SuperDuke R Ltd Edition, Kawasaki ZX14-R, Suzuki GSXR750 and Yamaha R1 already sold out from the advanced sales. Allocations of rides are being sold in advance via the festival website, using an automatically generated password as fans purchase their tickets. Twelve of South Africa’s top manufacturers are making the latest machines available to test ride on the new circuit.
The festival will have a variety of stunts and jumps to see, and a performance by international stunt and wheelie champion, Julien “RazorBack” Welsch, who will be entertaining all with his amazing freestyle tricks on a Triumph Street Triple R.
Monster Energy, the exclusive energy drink partner, is showcasing a fan activation zone. For those off-road and adventure enthusiasts, the BMW Motorrad Enduro Track will be in action all weekend, where visitors can test new models around a short enduro circuit.
All those passionate about motorbikes and pride themselves on breathing life back into the machines of the past and building unique machines are encouraged to fine-tune their latest projects in time for the first Custom Bike Show – The South African Championship, to be judged by internationally known master-builder and show judge, Mario Kyprianides. The championship will be hosted by well-known TV presenters from ‘The Bike Show’, Mat Durrans and Harry Fisher, alongside official prize sponsor, Mars Helmets. The 13 categories have been decided on and SA’s master-builders are getting their machines ready for the competition of a lifetime, with each category winner taking home a South Africa Bike Festival 2016 trophy, while the overall winner will receive a Custom Bike Jet from Scythe Works worth over R6 500.
Harley-Davidson Gold Rand, Bloemfontein and Zambezi are representing, showcasing the Kings of Custom builds that were chosen earlier this year.
The cost to participate is a R20 top-up on your South Africa Bike Festival ticket, with all proceeds going towards CLAW (Community Lead Animal Welfare) through the Ride for a Reason-Claw and Paws Charity organisation.
From toddlers to teens, the festival is full of endless hours of entertainment for all ages.
A dynamic and innovative international event organiser, Clarion Events UK is thrilled to add the South Africa Bike Festival to it extensive motoring portfolio, as well as to make history in being the first public event at the newly refurbished Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit.
