Equestrian development on the go

The class line-up includes various levels of showing, show-jumping, and vaulting - a new discipline recently introduced in the yard, and gaining recognition nationwide.

THE IEA Elite, in partnership with Enos Mafokate Soweto Equestrian Centre, will be hosting three equestrian development shows throughout 2019.

The first of these three shows is as early as June 9, followed by July 28 and then September 1, at The IEA Elite.

The class line-up includes various levels of showing, show-jumping, and vaulting – a new discipline recently introduced in the yard, and gaining recognition nationwide.

Prize hand-outs will be done by the Midvaal mayor, Clr Bongani Baloyi. They believe that partnering with Midvaal Local Municipality will boost the community as a whole, as the government is putting more attention towards equestrian sport. They will also have support from their local CPF and business men and women in the area, including Dennis Ryder.

Proceeds of this event will be split between ArkStar Kidz Club, their very own registered NPO which is helping the less fortunate equestrians to develop in the equestrian field and obtain internationally recognised qualification, and the Enos Mafokate Soweto Equestrian Centre.

Enos Mafokate Soweto Equestrian Centre is a registered NPO, and also the first equestrian centre ever opened in Soweto to teach black adults and children to ride horses. Mafokate represented South Africa at the Olympic Games in Barcelona.
