Boxer lands another blow to win third pro bout
Professional lightweight female boxer Bernice Ferreira added another win to her name after going up against Azasakhe Jamani in the Eastern Cape.
Bernice Ferreira had her third professional bout on May 26 in the Eastern Cape when she went up against Azasakhe Jamani.
With her fighting in the lightweight division, the six-round non-title fight bout went the distance.
The Kibler Park boxer came out on top with a unanimous points decision win, adding to her two wins, and remained undefeated.
Ahead of her fight, she said she was well prepared, like with all her previous bouts.
“With a great team behind me and an amazing manager and excellent coaches, I was able to perform to the best of my abilities, and for that, I want to show my deepest gratitude. I hurt my hand in this fight, though nothing major. However, I will take a bit of a break for it to heal properly,” she explained.

She said her success would not have been possible without the support of her loved ones and sponsors.
“I would like to send a big thank you to God, my fiancé and my family for always standing behind me and my team for their unwavering support. A huge thank you to my sponsors MobiFit, Navigator Trading, Hair@Meyersdal, Aunty Vanessa, and everyone else who showed support,” Ferreira said.
Her manager, Colleen McAusland, said Ferreira put in the hard work, discipline and commitment and would soon be a titleholder.
“I’m already in negotiations for her next fight. Soon, she will be fighting for her first title. The struggle we face as women in boxing is sponsorship. If a company is interested in sponsoring our champs, please email me on Colleen.mcausland@gmail.com,” she said.
McAusland thanked RGM Cranes for their continued support.
