Resilience tumblers off to Mauritius

The community’s assistance would be highly appreciated by the club, parents and gymnasts.

Thirteen tumblers of Resilience Gymnastics Club, based in Robertsham, took part in trials for an international competition in Mauritius in August.

Six of the gymnasts qualified for this prestigious event. This will be the first time that gymnasts from Resilience will be competing outside South Africa.

The club and coaches are proud of this achievement. The gymnasts and coaches have put in a lot of extra hours for these trials, which showcased in their results.

The club’s owner and head coach, Roxanne van Herwaarde, was chosen to go with team SA to Mauritius as a coach. The trip will cost R25 000 per gymnast, which is a big expense for the parents.

Resilience is appealing to anyone who can assist the gymnasts by either sponsorship or donation towards the cost of the trip, the gymnasts’ ages range from 11 to 18 years.
