Caxton steps up digital presence

Caxton South Local Newspapers are stepping up their digital presence by introducing three new websites which cover Alberton and the South of Johannesburg.

After launching looklocal Alberton and looklocal Joburg South in 2011, Caxton South now has three new websites carrying the name of the following publications, Comaro CHRONICLE, Southern COURIER and Alberton RECORD.

Group Editor at Caxton South Local Newspapers Carina van der Walt says, “Our title sites (albertonrecord.co.za, comarochronicle.co.za and southerncourier.co.za) also provide national news from other Caxton publications across the country as well as the Citizen bringing you more national and international news.”

The new sites also feature a number of blogs which include, Bridge the Gap and Inside Report both written by Ekurhuleni Councillors, Neil Diamond and Michael Basch respectively. Among the columnist are Julie Maule who writes the Bag Lady and Malcolm Maifala with Black on White.

The new sites also feature contributions from Mohammed Murtaza, Claire Fortein, Cheslyn Bester and Errol Clark who give motivation to all walks of life. For Rugby enthusiasts, Andy Turner delivers a great try with his ‘Love the Game’.

Over the years Caxton Newspapers have been part of the community, the new websites are no different; they are the community’s own news portals, just as the papers have been over the years.

According to Caxton South Digital Support, Malcolm Maifala; “The new website will focus mainly on news, while looklocal will focus more on services in the area. The community should see the sites as an extension of their favourite newspapers.”

Take the time and visit your new local websites and start interacting with the rest of the community.

At Caxton, we employ humans to generate daily fresh news, not AI intervention. Happy reading!
