JOHANNESBURG SOUTH – These Hoërskool President High School learners were rewarded for their excellent achievements at the prestige evening on Tuesday, October 27.
Stephen Govender: Certificate of versatility (silver, cricket, talent show, Junior City Council, sound, cricket scorekeeper, prefect, RCL and academic team), prefect (full colours and prefect 2015) and academics (distinctions: English HL 86 percent plus floating trophy, Afrikaans FAL plus floating trophy 83 percent, mathematics plus floating trophy 91 percent, life orientation 93 percent, physical science 81 percent plus floating trophy and accounting 89 percent).
Brenda Gordon: Athletics (full colours, five years in athletics team, 12 gold, eight silver and two bronze medals, zones team, four years age group winner. Medal for the best u.19 girls athlete floating trophy, most versatile girls athlete of the season and floating trophy, best senior girls athlete for middle distance as well as the floating trophy, best senior girls field athlete and floating trophy as well as Senior Victrix Ludorm) and prefect – full colours (also prefect in 2015).
Mandla Shabalala: Athletics (half colours, four years in the athletic team, zone team and the district team. Medal for best u.17 boy athlete plus floating trophy, best senior boy track athlete plus floating trophy and Senior Victor Ludorm. Rugby – full colours, four years in the A team and Golden Lions and Beeld trophy winners).
Lelind van der Westhuizen: Certificate of versatility (athletics, rugby league and Super 12 Athletics – awarded a scroll, one year in the athletic team, zone team, age group winners plus floating trophy, most versatile junior boy athlete plus floating trophy, best junior boy field athlete plus floating trophy and Junior Victor Ludorm. Medal for best u.15 boy athlete. Rugby – full colours, two years in the A team and winners of Lions Middle Schools).
Amorien Maasdorp: Athletics (scroll, three years in the athletic team and the zone team. Medal for best u.15 girl athlete plus floating trophy, most versatile girl athlete of the season plus floating trophy and Junior Victrix Ludorm. Netball – full colours, three years in the A team, Gauteng netball colours plus floating trophy and best junior netball player. Leadership – scroll, RCL secretary and two years RCL).
