JOHANNESBURG SOUTH – The number of calls coming into the Johannesburg SPCA are increasing, with reports of animals being affected by the drought.

The JSPCA inspectors are out on the road, visiting numerous farms and areas where livestock is kept, as they are already battling with water and food shortages.

“We operate as far out as Krugersdorp, Magliesburg and the surrounds, where there are numerous farms and animals that need their assistance. Should this type of weather, due to the Elnino, continue until Autumn 2016 as predicted, a vast majority of animals around the country will suffer,” said Jolene Beyleveld from JSPCA.

Beyleveld continued by saying: “Please, we need your eyes, ears, voice and donations to help us help these animals. If you see any animals that require our assistance, please notify us immediately on 011 681 3600 or the 24-hour duty inspector on 083 604 1172. Your donations help us to help these animals.”
