Healthy food and a printer for Glenvista Primary School
“This will help get school work out to those learners who are not at school but opted to work from home.”

Learners at Glenvista Primary school were in for a healthy surprise when Ward 23 councillor Sarah Wissler and Christine Botha from Mulbarton Pick n Pay visited the school.
“Pick n Pay Mulbarton gracefully offered to pay for the lunch boxes for the children at the school,” said Wissler.
Added to that Thomas Florindo from 3@1 Print surprised the staff when he donated a printer to the school. Pick n Pay prepared lunches for the learners which consisted of a healthy sandwich with fresh juice and fruit.
“We will be preparing lunches for the learners with different healthy sandwiches every day, and we will make sure they are well fed,” said Botha.
Twenty one learners are now getting a healthy packed lunch with fruit and juice daily. This will enable them to concentrate in class and not go hungry. Florindo who kindly donated the printer / copier said this will be used to get copies of work to the learners.
“This is to help them to make as many copies as they need. The printer / copier was supplied complete with inks and we will also donate needed stationery to the school for the next 12 months. “This will help get school work out to those learners who are not at school, but opted to work from home,” he said.
DA Shadow MEC for Education Khume Ramulifho and Wissler also conducted an oversight inspection at the school. Wissler said the whole purpose is to assess the states of schools, especially during this pandemic and get a better understanding of how learning is taking place.
Ramulifho added his appreciation for all the efforts the team has brought to the school.
“I am very thankful for the food and printer / copier that have been donated, especially because recent resources have been minimum. Some schools can go the extra mile getting support, but some schools cannot. We really appreciate it and this should not end here,” said Ramulifhu.
