Spare a thought for Door of Hope
It has been a strange year for everyone, but like any other year we are moving closer to Christmas, leaving us feeling a bit more cheerful and confident.
It is also the time of year when people give gifts and blessings to others, especially to the less fortunate.
“As you start writing your Christmas wish list, spare a thought for those who may have had it a bit harder than yourself,” said operation director of Door of Hope Nadene Grabham.
Door of Hope is a safe haven for abandoned babies.
“Door of Hope has taken in 37 babies so far this year and we expect a few more before the year ends. We average around 68 babies in our care at any one time. “Many of you have blessed us with much-needed donations during lockdown, for which we are forever grateful,” she said.
She explained that as Christmas comes and goes they will face January, which usually is a tough month for Door of Hope.
“We hope to stock up enough baby food, nappies, toiletries and cleaning products between now and Christmas to see us through January and February.
“No donation is too small. Don’t be shy or embarrassed if you can only donate one bottle of purity at a time because that one bottle is very important. It is lunch for a baby for a day,” said Grabham.
Door of Hope also has a LifeChanger programme which is a monthly monetary donation to their babies.
Any amount is most welcome.

Let the Christmas spirit begin!
