Learners of Revival City College go back to class

Revival City College, a private Christian primary school in Brackenhurst, opened its doors on February 1 for the start of their 'face-to-face' teaching for 2021.

The college had been offering online lessons for their learners since January 13, with parents collecting their children’s work packs through a drive-through process.

With all the Covid-19 compliances in place, Natalie Louw, principal at the school, said the management felt comfortable to open their doors for face-to-face teaching.

“Parents and learners were both very excited to return to the college, and newly enrolled learners were made to feel welcome immediately. The college is excited to announce that this year sees us opening our first Grade Seven class,” said Louw.

She said in the first half of the year, the building of their high school will begin in order to cater for their Grade Eights in 2022.

Karen van den Oever, operational director at the school, who spearheaded the opening of the college in 2017, said the growth of the college has been phenomenal.

“We have had from 64 learners in 2017 to almost 430 in 2021. The Lord has to be praised for the favour and blessings He has bestowed on the college. We also commend the hard work and commitment of the staff and the support of the parents of the college,” she said.
