Four suspects behind bars for possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition
Four men were arrested in Hefer Street in Naturena.
Four men were arrested on February 3 in Hefer Street, Naturena.
The suspects were driving a silver VW Polo that overturned next to a house. They were found in possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition.
They are believed to be part of a group that had been terrorising the community. One suspect managed to run away but was later arrested in Eldorado Park.
They are being detained at Mondeor SAPS and will appear in the Booysens Magistrate’s Court. In a separate incident, three suspects were arrested for possession of suspected stolen goods and house break-in implements.
Security received a call that suspects were hiding at corner Bellairs and Comaro streets after trying to break in at Renaissance Retirement Home.
Suspects were found with suspected stolen items and house break-in implements. They were arrested and detained at Mondeor SAPS and will appear in the Booysens Magistrate’s Court.
Station commander and management of Mondeor SAPS commended the effort made by community and security companies. The co-operative partnership that the SAPS and community has is yielding results to ensure a safer area.
