Family of the ‘Tara Road plant man’ say thanks

EDITOR - I hereby wish to thank each and every customer who bought plants from my father Neels Strydom, who was a regular face by the side of Tara Road.

I know that for the last few months he must’ve been missed, but he was unable to continue selling due to his lung cancer diagnosis.

I am sorry to inform you that he lost the battle and has since died. The reason I am writing this letter is that I feel the need to thank each and every customer who bought plants from my father. A huge big thank you to those who spent time chatting to him or just shared a joke, for the amazing warmth, support and friendship you showed him during the years. I know that if he could be here now, he’d be by the road side this weekend, making people laugh or just having a chat. His memory will live on and I am sure that those whose lives he touched will remember him for a brief moment. I thank you all for making his day during the years he sold plants and I hope that you will be as supportive to the gentleman who has taken over from my father.

Thanks you from the bottom of our hearts, from the family of the plant man in Tara Road.
