Spar Superstars SLS 2026

GRADE 5 learner, Ethan Valayathum, took first place in his level at the National Abacus and Mental Arithmetic Championship in Gauteng recently. The competition challenged participants to demonstrate speed, accuracy and concentration.

KWAKHANYA Vilakazi, a Grade 5 learner, recently obtained second place in basic kata category, second in boys 10-11 years-old knock down fighting and third place in boys boys 10-11 years old semi-contact fighting at a national tournament.

GRADE 1 learner, Luka Colton, is being nominated for his resilience on the athletics field. Luka was born with clubfoot, which means his foot is twisted inward and downward. At a recent cross country event, Luka took part and completed the race.

GRACE Ruth Bower, a Grade 3 autistic learner, is being recognised for her academic and athletic prowess after placing first in the inter-house cross country as well as winning the victrix ludorum for the school’s inter-house athletics.

HARDWORKING Grade 12 learner Vuyokazi Khuzwayo excels in athletics, rugby and soccer. Since 2022, she has represented KZN teams, earned multiple Player of the Match awards, and joined the Sharks U18 training squad.

TARA-LEE Stevens, a Grade 9 learner, excels both academically and in sport. She is a talented karate and kickboxing athlete whose discipline, determination and commitment have earned her the distinction of being a gold medalist.

NTSIKA Mfeka, a Grade 12 learner, earned first place in kata intermediate division, second place in semi-contact/ clicker and second place in knock down fighting at the recent IKO 2026 SA National Championship Tournament.

GRADE 9 learner, Jordan Hepplewhite, earned him the chance to represent South Africa at the UDO World Street Dance Championships in the United Kingdom. Jordan was also recently selected to represent KZN at the upcoming nationals tournament in Cape Town.
