Jacobs junction crash leaves two seriously hurt

TWO people were rushed to hospital on Saturday, 28 September after a collision at the intersection of Chamberlain Road and Milne Street in Jacobs left a car overturned at about 10pm.

Rescue Care and ER24 paramedics responded to the serious collision, where one of the vehicles involved came to rest on its roof against a large rock.

The driver of the overturned car was in a critical condition and rescue services were called to cut the man free. Paramedics stabilised and placed him on a manual ventilator while he was freed using hydraulic equipment. ER24 paramedics then transported him to a nearby hospital.

The passenger of the overturned vehicle, who had suffered moderate injuries, was also stabilised and transported by Rescue Care paramedics to a nearby hospital.

Police are investigating the cause of the accident, which is not yet known.
