Trench warfare rages in Montclair

The truth is our park was used for apprentice trench digging.

EDITOR – Is it possible that we are about to be or have been invaded in our formerly lovely Montclair suburbs?

Well if you are driving down or up Kenyon Howden Road, look at the metres of trenches dug into the grass adjacent to the swimming pool. It reminds one senior citizen of Flanders Field, circa World War One.

But it seems the insurgents have not invaded from without. They have arrived from within, disguised as employees of our local government. The trenches, once dug up, are now totally neglected and overgrown. It seems that the war graves commission was not needed.

The truth is our park was used for apprentice trench digging.

As our road verges highlight sounds of people are seen digging then leaving un-completing the job.

Can anybody advise what these trenches were actually to be used for? Or were they used for the soil to fill in other holes?

Will our park ever be restored to its natural condition?
