Public meetings for beach plans
DATES for the public participation process for the South Durban beach upgrades are set to take place this month, according to the eThekwini Municipality.

The upgrade, which was confirmed in August, is to include Ansteys, Brighton, Treasure and Cuttings beaches, though there is no set plan in place yet. Once input has been received from the residents at the public participation meetings, a draft plan will be developed and the budget provided.
The purpose of the meetings, according to the municipality, is to hear what the community’s needs are for the beaches before drawing up the plan. The meetings will be at Brighton Beach Primary School on Tuesday, 12 November; the Merebank Community Hall on Thursday, 14 November and the Austerville Community Hall on Tuesday, 19 November. All meetings are open to all members of the communities and start at 6.30pm.
