Decomposed body found in informal settlement

A decomposed body was found on the outskirts of Yellowwood Park at the Coedmore informal settlement on Sunday, 13 April.

Bellair SAP received a call from a resident who claimed to have seen a body. When police arrived, a crowd had gathered around the body, which was rumoured to have been burnt. Police have confirmed the body was not burnt but decomposed. It is not yet known how long it had been there, nor the gender or race of the person. It has not yet been determined how the toes on the body went missing.

The body has been sent for a post mortem. No arrests have been made.
