Police probe car, baby crash
Police are investigating the crash on the Bluff on Monday that landed a baby and his mother in critical care.

BRIGHTON Beach SAP is investigating a case of reckless and negligent driving following a collision that landed a three-week-old baby in hospital on Monday, 14 April.

According to Brighton Beach SAP communications officer, Captain Louise Le Roux, the driver claims he was going through the intersection of Bluff Road and Solomon Mahlangu Drive (Edwin Swales) at about 8.30 am when the incident occurred.
The traffic light was amber as he moved through the intersection and felt a bang against his vehicle. It was then that he discovered he had hit a woman and her baby.
Cpt Le Roux said witnesses have come forward and official statements are awaited.
