Breaking news: Bomb detonated in YWP [VIDEO]

A BOMB found at a Yellowwood Park home yesterday, 8 May was detonated by police after residents were evacuated from the area.

At about 3.30pm, the police provincial task team and explosive experts cordoned off the area surrounding a home in Sunbird Place after a man, who was hired to clean a property found a suspicious package, placed it outside and called the police.

Following safety procedures, the experts detonated the bomb. No injuries or damage to property were reported. Witnesses said the road was closed for about 45 minutes and according to one, the explosion left her ears ringing.

It is not yet known how the bomb came to be on the property. Montclair SAP is investigating.
