HIJACKERS struck in Woodlands and Montclair, minutes apart on Friday, 23 May.
While parking his parents’ vehicle outside their Verity Avenue, Woodlands home at about 6.10am, a young man saw a white Ford Focus drive past him. The vehicle unexpectedly stopped and reversed towards him. Two armed men alighted and approached him. Cocking their guns, they swore at him and demanded his cellphone. They searched him and took keys to another vehicle from his pocket and fled in his parents’ Mercedes.
Minutes later, at about 7.20am, a man sitting in his car in Ronald Road, Montclair, was set upon by three armed men. One of the men knocked on his window and demanded he alight the vehicle. As he opened the car door, he was dragged out and the men sped off in his car.
Both vehicles were recovered in Umlazi and fingerprints have been recovered from one of the vehicles.
