Women warned about footpath stalker
Kingsley and Highbury road footpaths are being stalked by a purse thief.
BRIGHTON Beach SAP has warned people to avoid the footpaths on Kingsley and Highbury roads, as reports have been received of a man assaulting women and stealing their handbags.
Communications officer, Captain Louise Le Roux urges people to be extra vigilant or take alternative routes. No cases have been registered yet, but incidents have been reported alleging that the Zulu-speaking attacker is a slender man, usually dressed in blue overalls, a grey jacket and a blue cap with red peak. He operates usually between 6.30am and 8am by pushing women from behind and grabbing their handbags as they fall. In one instance, he allegedly used a long silver kitchen knife to scare his victim.
