Seventeen injured in Umlazi taxi accident

One woman was critically injured.

SEVENTEEN people were injured, one critically, after a taxi overturned on the eastbound lane of Mangosuthu Highway at about 8am on Thursday, 26 June.
“Reports indicate the vehicle was travelling towards Durban when the driver veered off the road and overturned. The wreckage came to rest on its side in the opposite carriageway,” said Netcare 911’s media liaison, Chris Botha.

Netcare 911 paramedics and emergency services found the patients scattered over a large area. After triaging, they found that a woman had sustained critical injuries, six people were seriously injured and 10 escaped with minor injuries.

After the injured were treated, paramedics transported them to a local hospital.
